Presentation – Steven Paul and reception of the B & B Soul – spirituality and personal touch
Sometimes the most interesting encounters have happened spontaneously. I just took the underground news beach community, and I noticed an advertisement for a bed and breakfast in Beach Toronto, which had a rather unusual name: Include Soul Bed and Breakfast. For my portrait of the neighborhood beach tourism entrepreneur wanted to interview anyway, so I decided to call the number.
I spoke with one of the owners and got a positive reception. Steven and I organizedI on Saturday afternoon for an interview to drop fast. Thus, in a snowy day, I went to Waverley Road and stopped just north of Queen Street, I found my goal. Steven Zarlenga, a co-owner, opened the doors to accommodate the B & B, Soul, and greeted me. He offered me a pair of slippers, a handy accessory on this day cold and damp. The co-owner Paul Karamat had waited on me and said hello. After I was offered a glass of orange juice, I took Stevenfor a tour of the house.
The historic house has a beautiful furnished living room on the east side, with adjacent dining room, which is Thailand on a oversized, colorful floral painting, Steven Paul and a trip to take. Upstairs are three bedrooms tastefully furnished with private bathroom and a magnificent bathroom. Steven did all the interior decorating, and the house has a simple elegance. Directly from the input iskitchen, a room that they intend to renew in the near future. The doors from the kitchen and the dining room a few steps lead to a new addition: a beautiful garden facing west offers three sets of French doors, an ideal place to relax. In summer, from the viewpoint of green sanctuary behind the house. Your backyard is part of the Beaches Garden Tour
Your garden has already been used as a backdrop for weddings and other special events. The spacious Garden Room with itsSeries of French doors reminds me a bit 'of a European palace, where the doors open onto a beautifully landscaped oasis of color and fragrance. Steven explained that the garden is a peaceful night's sleep, and many B & B guests have noted the quiet garden. During the festival, Steven Paul, and often sit in the courtyard with their guests, listen with a glass of wine and music that glides onto Queen Street.
Steven Paul and lived in Richmond Hill, and hadToying with the idea of opening a bed and breakfast for some time, but always thought that doing something later in life. At a critical moment in their life have decided to go ahead anyway with their plans and began the search for a suitable property. They looked demonstrated in various parts of Toronto and were in various properties throughout the city. When you looked around the beach, she liked the small town character of this neighborhood and the restaurant and shopsOpportunities in the area. Paul said that if their real estate agent urged her to Waverley Road, was in some way to bring this property and bought it immediately after viewing. They became good friends with the previous owners, they put the plants in the garden before allowed in possession of the house and all the holes in the wall before Steven Paul and assumed ownership fixed.
The name of this B & B Paul came in a moment of divine inspiration. Paul describes himself asspiritual, he prays regularly and asked for a name for your new bed and breakfast. Paul smiles and says the next day, the name came naturally to him, host of the Soul. He added that he wanted to create a home for people to come and to be honest.
Over the past three years, Steven and Paul are guests from around the world, among which were from different parts of North America, Europe and Asia. Steven loves to destroy his full, hot breakfast that includes fresh fruit cocktails,Coffee, tea, juices, and a main course, or a plate of eggs (omelets Steven Paul adds that he died), a quiche or a dish made of puff pastry. Steven told me his pancakes: It takes a couple of pear slices and put them into the dough, while the pancake cooks. The result is visible on one side of the pancake and the top is sprinkled with powdered sugar. My mouth was watering just heard this description.
I asked her to tell me some of their stories Favorite Guestthat have accumulated over the past three years. Both commented that their guests come from all walks of life, some are rich, some are normal, hardworking people, but to treat everyone equally and 99% of their assessment of the experiences are positive.
Many guests say they sleep much better here than at home. Recently some guests from the West Coast brought a bottle of malt as a gift, and other guests brought some cheese. OftenGuests are interesting personalities and are, for interesting reasons. One of his clients, was used to investigate the death of his uncle, who was killed on duty as an officer in the RCMP. Another couple from Korea came with their Korean brother-in-law. As interior designers, Steven entered into a lively discussion about architecture in-law involved. Later that day, the couple noticed that their comrades had spoken to anyone about five days, and Steven was the firstPerson, who opened.
A young Japanese woman who speaks no English, has remained for several days in their B & B, and they both went on some trips to town in Niagara-on-the-Lake. The only way to communicate was through improvised sign language, and the three big established a connection and had a lot of laughs together. Positive human relationships are possible, even without the aid of a common language.
Steven and Paul's story is a woman Favorite Guestfrom Halifax, arrived at their B & B stay Mary, a tall and beautiful woman in her fifties, with blonde hair was a bit 'hesitant, but came across well, as relaxed and spiritually. Both owners knew they wanted to associate to this B & B rating. Maria finally opened and told them her story: she had a very close friend, Anna, who grew up with. They often tea and biscuits together, and one day, during one of his meetings, got Anna and fellDown – which had suffered a serious heart attack and died the same day.
When Mary had a train to Toronto on the way to go to Steven and Paul B & B, Mary said to herself "Anna, if you're out, give me a sign." Mary closed her eyes and when he opened them, saw a high in the sky. When Paul told this story, something I just had a cold. Steven Paul and added that they have become good friends with Mary and cried when he left. They felt they hadmet a soul sister. Needless to say, Mary has been back many times since their first visit.
I asked their personal background and began to explain that Steven was born in Toronto in a Canadian-Italian family. He completed a program in marketing and began working for American Standard. Moved in the field of human resources and began working with disabled people for whom he organized job fairs and internships.
One day he was literally a lightbulbWhen he realized that he needed a change in his life, and this time he believes he could open a home accessories store. Steven has always had a talent for interior design and he was a child, had his relatives for the decoration of the Council to ask. He thought he might also try to make a living at something that is really good. Scored for trade fairs and collect samples for the proposed store home accessories, but in the end, Steven and Pauldecided by Steven decorating talents put them to good use in her bed and breakfast, who want to exploit were open.
Steven is a talented painter of glass, and some pieces of art adorning their homes by Steven. Steven also has several pieces of stained glass, sells some of its bed and breakfast, offering guests some of the other guests with his help their interior design projects.
Paul was born in Guyana and was twelve years old when he wasToronto. He said that his initial adjustment period was a bit 'difficult because it was used to grow in a large family who had lived in close contact. After his arrival in Toronto, his entire family for the whole city was divided. An experience that was shaped by Paul Kamarat a walk along the pilgrim route of the Camino de Santiago. We spoke briefly of my friend Sue Kenney, who has become a recognized authority on the Camino. Paul tells a story, when rail travel from France to the border with Spain, where hewould be the beginning of his pilgrimage. She was a woman from the city by train, which had said they were very satisfied with the famous French shrine of Lourdes in the vicinity. Paul decided to leave the train and spent a night in this historic city, a magical experience.
Once he began his pilgrimage near the Spanish town of Roncesvalles, he asked God for a sign if it was on track. Just then he saw a pair of butterflies dancing, which has always had a positiveSymbol for Paul. She knew it was on track.
Paul adds that as a beginning writer, has a strong interest in normal humans. He said he meets many interesting people and there are so many special people out there who make a positive contribution to the planet.
Steven pulled his album and showed me some pictures from the B & B restructuring plan. Other images from some of the special events held here and some of its windows. We alsowent through his guest book that had so many positive comments about the guest experience at the top of the B & B. Soul features already welcoming hosts, Paul and Steven my biscuits and a dish of bread and cheese brought to me during interviews excited. Your natural talent for hospitality is genuine and welcoming.
Just before I go, he showed me his passport and comb pilgrimage Paul, who is the symbol of the Camino de Santiago. Steven alsohad a special voice, to show me, because Paul was encouraged: the artistic talent of Steven appeared early in the form of a pig appears blue cardboard, an art project that was in his high school with a variety of other objects and scientific experiments. We all chuckled at this unusual yet strangely affectionate long eyelashes work of art.
Two other respondents are waiting for me, but these two meetings hospitality entrepreneur was a true delight. IBed and breakfast owners interviewed over the years, but I do not think I ever met B & B hosts, who enjoy the guest experience and human connection in a way very similar to Steven Zarlenga and Paul Karamat. Both gentlemen asked me again and I did not have before leaving a big hug from both. Truly, a Bed and Breakfast with a personal touch …
